Biography

Dr. Amit Sheth is a Distinguished Professor and one of the most highly cited computer scientists globally (h-index 115+). He is the Founder of IAIRO (International AI Research Organization), recently established in India to foster global collaboration in AI research, education, and social impact. Best known for his foundational work in the Semantic Web, Knowledge-infused Learning (KiL), and Neuro-Symbolic AI, his research focuses on integrating structured domain knowledge into machine learning to enhance explainability, safety, and reliability. As the Founding Director of the AI Institute at the University of South Carolina (AIISC), Dr. Sheth has mentored generations of researchers and secured numerous patents, consistently bridging the gap between theoretical breakthroughs and real-world clinical and industrial applications.
