CMS now audits every eligible MA contract, not the roughly 60 it used to select each year. Its published schedule runs six payment years, PY2020 through PY2025, from March 2026 to April 2027, and the order is not sequential. PY2024 audits began in August 2026, ahead of PY2023 in November and PY2022 in January 2027.
For planning, that means there is no longer a “between audits” period. One payment year opens before the last one closes.
